Indian Army, Govt. of India has announced the Agnipath Scheme or Agnipath Yojana on 14 June 2022, for recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces. This scheme provides for the recruitment of youths between the age frame of 17.5 years to 21 for four years with a provision to retain 25% of them for 15 more years. However later, the government extended the upper age limit to 23 years for recruitment in 2022.

Salary of Agniveers:- The salary for Agniveers in the 1st year will be around Rs. 4.76 lakh per annum which increases to Rs. 6.92 lakh per annum for the final year. The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax.
